Ryan Seacrest Signs $45 Million 'American Idol' Deal
Host's new contract covers next three seasons.

Just days after it was reported that Ryan Seacrest was renegotiating his "American Idol" contract comes news that the host will be back — and for a lot of dough.

On Monday (July 13), it was announced that Seacrest, under a three-year contract with CKX, parent of "Idol" production company 19 Entertainment, will be making $15 million a year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the deal, which triples his current salary, had been in the works for several weeks.

While "Idol" has yet to make its own announcement, THR notes that official word will come sometime Monday. The site also reports that "the three-year deal gives CKX exclusivity on Seacrest's on-camera services for broadcast TV," although the host has a separate cable deal with Comcast and works with E! as an anchor and producer on several shows, including "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

With Seacrest's deal out of the way, the "Idol" producers can now focus on getting the judges' contracts finalized before next season. All four "Idol" judges are currently in the process of negotiating new contracts, though the season's auditions have already begun. But in May, Simon Cowell seemed certain that everyone would be back on the show.

"Everyone's going to be back. Absolutely," Cowell said just weeks before Paula Abdul hinted she'd be back for another season. "It's been honestly the best eight, nine years of my life. But I just believe sometimes everything has to come to an end."

On Monday, Seacrest took to his Twitter page to discuss the news. "Very excited about locking in a deal to host idol for this season and the following 2," he wrote, adding, "Lots of conversations going on behind the scenes but I fully expect you will see the whole team next year."

"Secret Life of the American Teenager" star Molly Ringwald has had her babies, a source close to the star tells me.

The former John Hughes muse delivered twins Adele Georgiana and Roman Stylianos last week and both mommy and twins are said to be doing well.

"Secret Life of the American Teenager" is currently still in production on its second season, but Ringwald won't be absent from too much of the action. Though her role was reduced to accommodate her maternity leave, Ringwald shot several scenes ahead of time so that her character -- who is also expecting -- will appear throughout the season.

Washington, July 13 (ANI): Tobey Maguire is going to replace James McAvoy in the forthcoming romantic comedy ‘The Details’, as the latter has left the project.

According to sources, the ‘Spider-Man’ star will be sharing the frame with Elizabeth Banks and ‘Pushing Up Daisies’ star Anna Friel.

“Maguire’s a global name and it will have helped them secure the finance they couldn’t get with MCAvoy,” Contactmusic quoted a source as having told Scottish tabloid the Sunday Mail.

The movie tells the story of a struggling married couple, who are further plagued with problems, thanks to ravenous raccoons burrowing under the sod in their back yard. (ANI)

In Judd Apatow's upcoming Funny People, Aziz Ansari plays a character named RAAAAAAAANDY, the first comedian to have his own DJ. And now, because no comedian is complete without an aggressive marketing strategy, Randy launched his own website, laughyourdickoff.com.

There's a lot of other great and funny things on the site, including videos of Randy's stand-up, a soundboard, and even a section of the site dedicated to fixing the situation in Darfur. The best part is that according to Aziz's tumblr, there's something even greater coming soon to Randy's website.

"Jason Woliner and I also created a whole video series/documentary about Randy that will debut on the site in some form in the coming weeks."

HE'S DESIGNING AN ED HARDY KIDS LINE



Just weeks after splitting from his wife of 10 years, Jon Gosselin is back in the spotlight with a new career and a new girlfriend. Gosselin, 32, turned up in St. Tropez hand-in-hand with Hailey Glassman, the daughter of the plastic surgeon who performed Kate’s tummy tuck in 2006. The lovebirds spent the weekend along the French Riviera so Gosselin could finalize a deal to design his own line of children’s clothing with Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier. Glassman will also have a hand in creating the kid-friendly fashions.

“She’ll have a lot of input with Christian,” Gosselin told PEOPLE of Hailey’s involvement. “And I will, too.” And don’t forget the plus eight — Gosselin tells PEOPLE that his eight kids, who spent the weekend with Kate at the family’s Pennsylvania home, will model his designs in ads for the line. Audigier tells PEOPLE that he approached Gosselin with the idea after noticing that the reality show dad often wore his tattoo-inspired T-shirts on Jon and Kate Plus Eight.

“He’s huge,” says the French designer, who may also collaborate with Gosselin on a specialty motorcycle collection. “Everyone knows this family. And everyone will know our clothes. They’ll be fun, easy clothes for kids.” But it wasn’t all work for Jon and Hailey. During the extended weekend aboard Audigier’s yacht, Gosselin and Glassman lunched at the Tahiti Club before cruising around the bay in a cigarette boat. The pair also went shopping at some of the high-end boutiques around St. Tropez, including Hermes and Prada.

“They couldn’t take their eyes off each other,” a friend of Audigier’s tells PEOPLE. “They looked so happy to just be together.” “I feel very relaxed,” Gosselin told PEOPLE during his weekend escape. But, “every ten minutes I keep thinking about the kids and missing them.” A reunion will come soon enough: Gosselin is due back home on Tuesday where he will start filming new episodes of the family’s TLC series, which returns from hiatus on Aug. 3.

'Phooey' kicks into high gear

Alcon Entertainment has geared up its live-action/animated version of "Hong Kong Phooey" with Alex Zamm on board to direct from David Goodman's script.

Alcon toppers Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove are producing along with Brett Ratner and Jay Stern.

Project's an adaptation of the 1970s Hanna-Barbera animated TV series, about a police station janitor who becomes a dog with mystical powers, including the ability to do kung fu.

Alcon's financing and co-producing "Book of Eli," directed by Allen and Albert Hughes.

Goodman's written "Who's Killing the Great Chefs of Vegas" for Warner Bros. He continues as an exec producer on "The Family Guy."
